An Austrian man, Josef Fritzl, is on trial for imprisoning his own daughter, raping over and over, having children with her and imprisoning those children without anyone knowing. He has two sons and five daughters including Elisabeth, who is the daughter that was imprisoned. He is suspected of having begun abusing Elisabeth in 1977 when she was 11 years old.

Elisabeth, in January 1983, ran away from home and hid in Vienna. The police found her and gave her back to her parents. 

Then on  29 August 1984, her father lured her into the basement by asking her for some help then drugged her and imprisoned her into the underground cellar until her release on 26 April 2008.

Soon her mother filed a missing persons report and her father handed over a letter to the police, the first of several that Elisabeth would be forced to write. Her father stated to police that she had most likely joined a religious sect.

Over the course of the following 24 years, Fritzl visited her in the hidden cellar on average once every three days to bring food and other supplies. After his arrest, he admitted that he repeatedly had sexual intercourse with his own daughter and had done so against her will...rape.

Elisabeth gave birth to seven children during her years in captivity. One child died shortly after birth, and three children — Lisa, Monika and Alexander — were removed from the cellar as infants to live with Fritzl and his wife. These children were all born without the help of doctors or anything else. Officials said that Fritzl "very plausibly" explained how three of his infant grandchildren had appeared on his doorstep. The family received regular visits from social workers, who did not hear complaints or notice anything to arouse their suspicions.

According to his sister-in-law Christine, Fritzl would go into the basement every morning at 9 a.m., apparently to draw plans for machines, which he sold to firms. Often he stayed down there for the night — his wife was not even allowed to bring him coffee. 

On 19 April 2008, Kerstin, Elisabeth's eldest daughter, fell unconscious, Kerstin was taken by ambulance to a local hospital and admitted in serious condition with life-threatening kidney failure. The police then reopened the case file on a missing Elisabeth.

Elisabeth did not provide police with more details until they were able to reassure her that she would be safe from her father and her children would be looked after. In the space of two hours, she told the story of her 24 years in captivity. Fritzl was arrested on suspicion of serious crimes against family members, facing possible charges of false imprisonment, rape, manslaughter by negligence, and incest.

Fritzl confessed on 28 April to having imprisoned his daughter for 24 years and having fathered her seven children. On 29 April, it was announced that DNA evidence had confirmed that Fritzl is indeed the biological father of all of his daughter's children.

SO FAR HE IS ON TRIAL.

All I have to say is that he is a sick bastard. I have been highly interested in this case since I heard this last year. How can a man rape his own daughter, imprison her, and have children with her? How can the mother of Elisabeth not know what is going on? This man should be hung or stoned to death. Over 24 years, he had his daughter in a cellar and her children who are not only her brothers and sisters but also children. To make a point to the public he should have a really bad punishment in front of the whole public. In this case, I want the fullest form of punishment available. The mother should have known about the molestation at the age of 11, or when the daughter ran away and was reunited she should have been completely involved in the daughter's life. You are suppose to protect your children even from there father/mother if necessary. This was the msot disturbing story I have ever heard. I hope this is never repeated in history.

Police Officers.

The officers that enforce the law are doing a very noble job. But at the same time, I question to what extent do they actually uphold the law. Sure, they stop you when you are speeding, or arrest possible thieves and so on but when you need them do they do anything. The other day a driver didn't stop at a stop sign. He continued to drive while trying to make a left turn to pass a big rig and then came to a complete stop. The thru traffic braked and honked the horn while turning right to avoid a possible accident. Doing this caused the driver to damage their own car. There right wheels hit the curb very hard and while avoiding the reckless driver the safe driver was stuck with the bill to pay for the damage. Calling the police to ticket this man or force him to possible have to take responsibility the police stated because there was no actual contact and there was no actual accident. So the responsible driver paid over $100 to fix their car while the reckless driver walked away from the entire situation.

When another driver was driving with their headlights off due to a break in the circuit of the car that flickered then turned everything off and froze the roof of the car to be half open a police officer ticketed that driver for reckless driving even when the driver explained what was happening. The officer even cited the elderly woman as driving 10 miles per hour below the speed limit. Obviously this person driving in the dark was trying to be careful with their emergency lights on. The officer asked if she had a gun and why she was driving so slow and when he found out he did nothing at all and cited her instead of making sure she got home safely without hurting herself or anyone else.

Throughout history officers have protected people from danger but they have also had a bad history with reputation; from the Rampart case in L.A. and the entire LAPD in the early 1900's to certain cases here and there. Cops are not bad but their boundaries have to come into question. They are here to protect and serve. Not just right tickets. In the two examples above they should have served the citizens rather than ignore the driver's needs.

Some officers use their appearance to intimidate people, some do help people, everyone is different. When officers usually cite and do not take into consideration the circumstance is when they are not doing their job fully. I find it interesting that officers pull over illegal immigrants who violate international law by being an illegal immigrant but can only impound their automobile rather than put the criminal in jail. They are not allowed to inquire about the status of the person. The government first takes away money from public schools during a financial crisis but doesn't take money away from people that do not fully serve or protect. It is not even the police officers fault because they just follow orders. When a government decides to spend more money on "protection and service" rather than education that is when the whole state is in a crisis. Finding the bad guy over developing a good guy. We need to change our attitude.

        Domestic abuse is not something that should be tolerated. Studies have shown the strain it causes on the victim, the children and family. It is hard for any victim of domestic abuse to leave the situation or seek help from the situation. An abuser can be a man or woman and the victim can also be male of female and no one should speak on a situation that is unclear and until all the facts are presented even then it is difficult to understand the reasoning.

       On Feb.8, 2009 the world heard that Rihanna and Chris Brown, both popular music stars, were in a car accident and would not attend the Grammys that evening. This was an obvious cover up by both singer's public relations' team. It was then revealed that Chris Brown left the scene of a crime, he had a physical altercation with an unidentified woman, later to be revealed as Rihanna. The altercation was later confirmed when  Chris Brown turned himself into the LAPD later that day and was then released on $50,000 bail. Rihanna was not the one to call the police, an unidentified female witness did and reports say that screaming and yelling is heard in the background.

           Overall we don't know what really took place on the morning of Feb. 8, 2009 between the two and we won't know what really happened because it will be from skewed points of view. What we do know is that the police say Rihanna confirmed Chris Brown to be her attacker. Chris Brown released this statement:         

"Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired. I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God's help, to emerging a better person. Much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and/or reported in the media is wrong. While I would like to be able to talk about this more, until the legal issues are resolved, this is all I can say except that I have not written any messages or made any posts to Facebook, on blogs or any place else. Those posts or writing under my name are frauds."

This picture of Rihanna was released to the public (which shouldn't have happened seeing that victims are suppose to have their privacy protected, this was a big fault in the way the L.A.P.D. is handling the case).

It is obvious Rihanna was beaten, by who, allegedly her boyfriend Chris Brown. The sad thing is that when these photos were taken the bruises still didn't have enough time to swell so it should have been bigger than this. Rihanna was taken to Cedars-Sinai Hospital to treat two contusions to each side of her head, a bloody nose, a bruised (supposedly badly damaged) eye, a busted lip, bite marks on her fingers, and arms. Brown's arraignment is on March 5, 2009. This particular story has upset a lot of people, his and her fans, other artists, parents, women, big businesses that used the two stars to promote their products, and overall anyone that has heard the story.

Today Rihanna released this statement. "At the request of the authorities, Rihanna is not commenting about the incident involving Chris Brown. She wants to assure her fans that she remains strong, is doing well, and deeply appreciates the outpouring of support she has received during this difficult time. "

        I like a few Chris Brown's songs and I have been a fan of Rihanna since I heard Pon De Replay because of her unique voice (the Barbados accent). Rihanna turns 21 today and Chris Brown is 19. This particular case shocked me.

I didn't want to talk about this situation but after seeing the photo of Rihanna last night I have to say that if Chris Brown did this, he deserves jail time. Since he was 15 he has been famous, a witness of domestic abuse (his mother was allegedly abused by the hands of his stepfather) and yet he supposedly didn't learn anything from that experience. The fame may have went to his head. Typically, in the teenage years is when a someone personally learns how to deal with the opposite sex. Chris obviously had a lot of things come easier to him once he became famous.  These important social skills were not picked up. Hopefully Chris learns from his mistake, and yes he can get over it. It will just take a lot of time and a conscious effort on his part.

So we don't know all the facts but this has become very important to a lot of people. Shockingly some have blamed Rihanna for "provoking" Chris "a mild mannered/mellow" guy. Yes, she may have slapped him, she may have punched him and that was wrong but to the severity that he hit her was wrong too. The bite marks on her hands could only happen if she was fighting him off and slapped him in the face and he must have bit down.  However it happened they both need to get out of their situation. Those who say "they must really love each other" should only be ignored and they should deal with one another in the most respectful manner.

T.I. stated that he spoke to Chris and that he is hanging in there and later released a statement stating that it was wrong to speak on the situation because he does not know all the facts. Terrence Howard also made a comment that he later stated was insensitive. Turns out Howard has also hit his wife in the past.

Anyone and everyone can talk. We don't know what happened. No one should be blamed except for the attacker. Yes, one can drive you into a fit of rage but as an adult you must be able to walk away from it. Between men and women, women are the physically weaker being. I hope justice is served and I hope both learn a big lesson from all of this. I do feel that Chris Brown can learn from all this. He is young, with a little jail time he will see the reality of the world. Rehabilitation and counseling should also help him learn how to control his behavior if he committed these crimes. He should also have to do community service of 1000 hours in a woman's shelter and donate a large amount to a domestic abuse charity (I think his bail was set too low, especially if he flies on a private jet to his next destination).

This relationship was too serious of a relationship for such a young couple. Can his career ever stabilize, OJ Simpson was acquitted of charges that he killed his wife and yet the public and society blame him. This is not something that one can easily overcome. Rihanna will always be seen as a victim and asked about this event for years to come. Both of these young people will face more than their fair share of problems. It will also be awkward for them to see each other at award shows when everyone will keep a particular close eye on how they each act. Hopefully, both will take time off to fully realize their actions, the events, and make goals for themselves in a more positive direction.  I wish Rihanna a speedy recovery and all the best in her career and life and I hope Chris Brown learns from his mistake and is able to overcome this obstacle and stand up for other's rights.

Nadya Suleman is a woman who recently had 8 pre-mature children while having 6 children already. The 33 year old woman conceived all her children via in-vitro fertilization. The mother of the 14 children is half Arab (Iraqi on her dad's side) and half Latino (on her mom's side). Nadya has received death threats as well as criticism by the public as well as her mother. Although, Nadya was married she is currently divorced, and pursued having children as a single mother. Nadya has claimed she wants nothing from anyone yet she has been using food stamps, living in a house her parents bought for her, filed a worker's compensation claim against the hospital that she was injured at and later filed for disability. Currently her children are all under 3 pounds and are living with the help of machines. Several of her children are disabled. Nadya is currently unemployed and pursuing her Master's Degree in Counseling. She has granted several interviews to news media stations and interest in her case is high.

I respect people who do take being a parent seriously. Nadya's situation is very interesting. The more I hear what she has to say the more I am concerned. Nadya has had miscarriages, she desperately wanted children and she successfully had children. My concern for this situation is when you have an unemployed woman, with no significant other (I am not saying she has to be married but children need to have some type of father figure) to help, and she already has several children, I question why she continued to have more children. Yes, my grandparents have had 10 or more children but that was a different time, different country and they were able to support the children on their own (as a couple) and they started young. All of Nadya's children were conceived via in-vitro fertilization, none of her children will have any contact with a father, her premature children will need a lot of care, her disabled children need a lot of support, and as a parent of several children it is hard to give equal attention to each child.

I feel that having children is more than just being a breeder, which so many people have been treating it as, I feel that each parent (man and woman) must be able to support the child: financially, emotionally, educationally, socially, and completely. In other countries it is common for a family to have more than 5 kids but in the US having 3 children is considered to be a lot. Nadya is not able to provide anything without help. Yes, she may love each of her kids but she can't care for all of them without help. Some say she wants to be like Angelina Jolie considering her facial features, her multiple children, and her cooperation to give interviews. She may have desired to be like Angelina Jolie but she has a lot of differences in this sense. Angelina Jolie has adopted half her kids, she cares for all her children financially, she has a partner in Brad Pitt, and she has help which she and Pitt provide (nannies). So I have great concern for her well being as well as each of her children's well being. I am not saying that she is completely incapable of caring for her children but she needs a lot of help. But who is the one to have to provide, our taxpayers money (which I don't necessarily mind) or Nadya herself. I personally believe that if someone has one very good parent they do not necessarily need two parents to develop into a good human being. But Nadya has brought into this world 14 fatherless children. When these children grow they need another voice to listen to, it would help with the attention given to each child. Hopefully Nadya does not bring in a boyfriend every other day into the lives of these children. These kids need stability. 

 I wanted to know more about this situation for many reasons, I wanted to know who this woman was to have this many kids, I wanted to know her situation. The more I learned about her the more I was concerned about the whole situation. All I can do is hope for that her kids turn out to be well rounded, stable, and healthy beings.

My father always told me the dogs you see in Afghanistan are not like the domesticated dogs in the US.

In recent years we have noticed many different types of sadistic behavior from many different people. We have seen cops shooting a kid, we have seen a woman shoot her husband, we have seen serial killers, rapists, terrorists and it is clear that no matter where you are from, who you are and how much money you may have you come across people that shock you in their behavior. I am a big lover of animals, especially of dogs. I have had several dogs in my lifetime and loved each one of them dearly. 

Dogs as well as other animals are helpless with regards to the intervention of humans. Animals are not able to speak, explain what they are thinking, and some disgusting people exploit these animals defenses for enjoyment. What sick person enjoys forcing animals to fight each other for their own entertainment. Animals are taught to be aggressive towards people and other animals. When they are puppies they are not aggressive just playful and curious; the master is the one responsible for their negative behavior. Some reward the negative behavior so much in order to make their animal a champion fighter.

Recently, Michael Vick, an American football player was sent to prison for animal cruelty which was the right choice. His home was raided and investigators found several dead dogs, dogs that have been electrocuted, shot, drowned, rape stands, chains and so much more. All this for dog fighting. 

In some countries animal fights including horses, camels, dogs are also taking place. These people all have a few things in common. These people are uneducated, sadistic, inhumane and low class.  By this I mean they have no taste. How can they enjoy such acts of cruelty, disgusting attacks on creatures that do not want to participate but are trained to do so or they will die. If they loose the fight they are murdered by their owner or they die by the other animal in the ring with them.

In Afghanistan, the capital of Kabul is where dog fighting happens the most. Every Friday all the men that have an interest in dog fighting bring their dogs to fight other dogs in order to make a profit. I was discussing dog fighting with a few friends and a few men approached me and were discussing how it takes place in Afghanistan. They were speaking to me as if they were bragging about how it is so fun to watch and reminiscing about what they use to do on those Fridays.

They didn't realize that I was speaking negatively of the people who have an interest in this low class "sport". At least when the Taliban were in power, the one good thing they did was forbade any dog fighting practice. Now it has surged again.

My father explained to me that some people do it for a living and these people are on the bottom of the social and humanity ladder. Only men who like to be considered a "manly" man need to do this for some inner proof that they are strong and this is why they enjoy these brutal and disgusting sports.

I always think why don't the men fight each other like in boxing. These athletes choose to fight one another, there are rules and safety precautions and most of all they can quit anytime.

I am so disgusted in these animal fighting practices, I can not say much else but who is the real animal? The creatures that are forced and have to fight otherwise they die by their owner or the other dog or the humans that partake in such sadistic events?

 Bernard Madoff is still not in jail. He is living a cushy life under house arrest. The Securities and Exchange Commission has charged Madoff and his investment firm, Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC for the Ponzi scheme. He is accused of fraudulently investing over 50 BILLION dollars, Madoff has also hinted that the losses must be over 50 Billion dollars. 

So why is Madoff not in jail. If one drives drunk they are arrested, if one robs a cashier they are immediately arrested and tossed in jail. So why is Madoff, who stole over 50 BILLION, almost 55 Billion dollars from many people thinking they were investing their funds in something wisely. He should be made an example. He should be tried, convicted and sentenced to life. In China, the people who were responsible of the contaminated dog food were executed, in Muslim nations if you steal you are first warned and then your left hand is cut off, if you steal you are to be punished. Why is Bernie Madoff not brought to justice. He is old enough not to be warned of his actions, he stole billions, with a B, and he is still allowed to live in his home.

In the past few years, China has shown the world many of their problems after they have repeatedly tried to cover things up.

First it was the SARS, then it was the tainted animal food and now it is tainted milk.

The AP reported in the article "Chinese police detain tainted milk activist" that the Chinese police have detained a father and a few other parents who have had their child sick due to the tainted milk.

 Overall these people wanted to hold a press conference stating their problems with the contamination and most likely the effect it had on their children.

China being a Communist Government wanted to control everything that is said about them. 

Come on now CHINA. Please stop having these disasters and stop trying to cover them up. Yes, image is important but finding a potential solution involves speaking to people that may be angry and may not agree. The Chinese Dairy companies issued an apology to the public but that is not enough. 

I personally had my 10 pound dog eat contaminated dog food and it was just tragic to watch. Luckily, he lived but he dropped six pounds. This is my dog, I remember waking up every 30 minutes to force feed him milk, chicken broth, and some other food. I remember worrying about him and not being able to think about anything else but him. This is my dog. Imagine if it was your son or daughter. Parents expect to use products meant for their babies and trust that it is healthy and safe. We need more accountability for companies that misuse our trust in their products.

I personally have been all over China and love it. I saw the Great Wall, the Terra Cotta Soldiers, Peking University, the Forbidden City and so much more. I know that the Chinese people want to improve their lives and country; who does not. But with the Chinese Government slowly implementing capitalism and hopefully moving towards more of a democratic government this may be possible. Till then, we will see many Chinese people being censored for the sake of protecting the Chinese Communist Government's image. 

China has the power to do that. Many of their own people's basic rights will be ignored and we as Americans have to stand up for them.

Another reason why I love the fact that I am able to say anything I want in my country.
